マイクロ波無線電力伝送地上試験システム用ビーム方向制御装置を開発し,軌道上の大規模SSPS(Space Solar Power Systems)における太陽熱や重力傾斜トルクによる巨大アンテナ面の変形を模擬した状態で,その変形を電子的に補正し,5.8GHz帯のkW級高出力マイクロ波ビームを所望の方向に高精度で指向制御できることを実測により確認し,ビーム方向制御方式の有効性を実証した.また,無線電力伝送した電力を実負荷に供給して,ユーザに実際に使用していただく実用化実証(デモンストレーション)を実施した.

"Development of Microwave Beam-pointing Controller for Wireless Power Transmission Ground Test"

JAXA developed the high-accuracy microwave beam-pointing controller for the wireless power transmission ground test, and demonstrated the efficacy of a beam-pointing control technique. The demonstration was made with kW-class high-power 5.8GHz band microwave-power transmission. The demonstration was also designed to simulate a deformation of the huge power transmitting antenna panel that is a part of SSPS(Space Solar Power Systems) by thermal distortion and gravity gradient torque in space. Therefore, this beam-pointing control technique has potential for applying to SSPS. Another wireless power transmission test was performed outdoors to demonstrate microwave wireless power transmission over a distance of about 55 meters, and the receiving power was supplied to its user actually.
